6 Weeks Postpartum. Stopped Breastfeeding. Very Dark Brown Discharge Followed With Red Discharge. Starting Of Periods?

i am exactly at 6 weeks postpartum. i stopped breastfeeding around 3 weeks ago . i had a very dark brown discharge for a week ( spotting ) but recently it has turned red and i am wondering if this could be my period starting . i am not hemorraging but it is heavier than what i had until now . i have not observed any bad odors just regular menstrual smell

Thanks for writing to us.
Since you have stopped breast feeding, the bleeding that you are having now can be due to the periods. You can wait and see if it subsides in next 4-5 days like menstrual bleeding then it is further confirmatory.
