6 Year Child, Suffering From Pachygyria. Doing Physical Therapy. Opinion?
hi..i'm noorfida from malaysia..i want to ask about pachygyria disease..may 6 months year old daughter detect with pachygyria..her condition is development delay but with no seizures and good in feeding...doctor at our hospital said that she will not be able to walk or talk but i started her physical therapy already...can i ask what is your opinion doc?
Pachygyria is a rare developmental brain disorder which results from abnormal migration of neurons in the developing brain and nervous system.
In this symptoms are variable, but may include seizures, developmental delay, growth failure, small head size, feeding issues, and poor muscle control.
Because of abnormal brain morphology, the child will develop the delays in milestones in spite of good physiotherapy and this will depend on the extent of brain involvement.
