6 Year Old Child, Painful Swelling In Shoulder, Pain When Bending Neck Backwards. Suggestions?

My 6 year old son has been saying that it hurts to put his neck down in the back for a couple months now. He doesn't mention it often but keeps mentioning the same thing. Last night I was feeling his neck and noticed one shoulder in the back seemed to have sort of a swelling to it. Slight, and wide. He said it hurts. Is this something to worry about.

Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Since child was only 6 years hence he was not able to explain proper nature of disorder and he complaints that he is feeling pain in the neck.
As neck having many joints and child was complaining about these joints pain.
Pain is also in the shoulder joint with swelling.
In rheumatoid arthritis there is pain in small joint at first stage and this pain subsides within a short period.
After some time it involves larger joints as it involved shoulder joint.
Now please get in blood examination for Rheumatoid arthritis factor( R. A. factor).
Since this is a bacterial disease so E S R is also important.
So please consult a physician and get treatment accordingly.
