6 Year Old, High Fever, Mild Throat Pain, Vomiting. Had Icecream. Treatment?
Patient is 6 yrs old healthy girl child. Due seasonal change and eating of ice cream she had symptom of unwell ness for last two days. Thereafter she had high fever 100. 101 deg centigrade since last night , could not sleep well during the night. Done vomiting in the early morning. She also reported mild throt pain in last two days.
Hi, It seems that your daughter might be having viral infection. Give her some decongestant syrup with paracetamol for 1-2 days. If there is no improvement then consult your doctor. She may require one course of antibiotic. Give her more water. Avoid cold drinks and junk food. Ok and take care.
Please monitor for danger signs. The danger signs are 1. Poor feeding and repeated vomiting. 2. Lethargy. 3. Loss of consciousness. 4. Fits or seizures.
Your daughter seems to have a throat infection. A physical examination by your doctor will confirm this. Antibiotics may be required after physical examination.
