Hi my family went hiking yesterday. We hiked about three miles and after completing my 6yr old was very tried. she was carried about half of it. She also has a fever 101.5 and headache. Was cold for most of the evening. She did drink a bottle of Gatorade and glass of water last night. Has eat breakfast and lunch today and drank about 4 cups of water. Do you have ideal of what might be going on?
Hi dear,
She probably has a viral fever. Try giving her tylenol if there is fever and good amount of bed rest. Usually viral fevers subside by two to three days. At present her oral intake is reasonably fine. Keep hydrating her well. If she doesnt become well or things worsen like vomiting, drowsiness its always better to take her to a pediatrician.
Take care
