I am a 62 yr old man, very clean. No drugs, no smoking & only clean sex, Once every week or two. I noticed earlier today that my penis started to ache. I however went to the bathroom to pee. I noticed that my pee was red, seemed like blood coming thru, it was a little painful too. This was my 1st such experience. Pls help.

Hello Hirandy,

Thanks for posting on HCM,

Well from your description, it is obvious that you are having a genitourinary affection which might be complicated UTI or might be coming from the kidneys (kidney stones or infection less likely as they will not lead to painful penis). So the cause might just be around your urethra as long term infection of that tube can cause bright red urination or hematuria and that will require urgent consultation with a urologist to determine the cause and treat. It will also be necessary to rule out prostate disorders given your age. If the cause of the problem is UTI then a cause of antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin or norfloxacin will be indicated to eradicate the affection. Confirmation of UTI could be done with urine analysis +/- culture and also a urethral swap.

Hope this helps
