I am a 65year old male ,relatively fit(I ve weight trained and kept to14st most of my adult life.Last march I was diagnosed iron deficient anaemia aim a tablet controlled diabetic.i then experienced a heavy weight in my chest ,breathlessness and palpitations.I feel unusually lethargic and get very tired.the breathlessness can come on as soon as I wake its all very confusing and worrying as I have always been so fit. Bowel cancer is ruled out ,my lung capacity test was good and a ECG was good HELP
Hello,
You have primarily two issues.
1... Anemia
2... Breathlessness and weight on chest.
1... Cause of your anemia should be found out.You must be investigated for chronic kidney disease ( CKD ),as it leads to anemia.Get investigated for kidney function tests
2.. You must be investigated by a cardiologist to rule out cardiac involvement as your symptoms are suggesting cardiac problem.Relevant investigations like ECHO should be done as ECG is an unreliable test in diagnosing heart problem.Long standing diabetics have much more chances of developing cardiovascular complications.
Consult your doctor and get yourself examined thoroughly to find out the basic cause for our problem.
Thanks
