66 Yrs Old, Diagnosed Of Linitis Plastica, Burning In Bladder, Lungs, Spread To Other Organs. How Long To Sustain ?

My dad is 66 years old and has just been told he has Linitis plastica. It has spread to other organs, he is not able to eat much, bladder is burning, lungs are burning and back feels like it is breaking. I KNOW he does not have long but is there anyway to estimate how long? My siblings and I live in a different part of the country than my parents, and we need to make plans for going home.

Hello and welcome to HCM
Linitis plastice is an aggressive type of gastric cancer.
In your fathers case the cancer has spread to other organs of the body.
It is difficult to predict the survival period however, the it should be made as comfortable as possible for your father.
There is palliative care for terminally ill patients.

My advice is to make his rest of life as comfortable as possible with analgesics for his back pain, pareneteral feeding as he is not able to feed orally and catherization if he is not able to pass urine.
And most important love, care and support.
