6weeks Pregnant. Had Bleeding, Cramps. Diagnosed With Threatened Miscarriage. Having Bright Red Discharge. Meaning?
Hi my name is Nisa and I m 6 wks pregnant. I entered the emergency room on Monday for bleeding and cramps , I was diagnosed with a Threatened miscarriage . I haven t returned back since, I ve been taking Tylenol for the pain, but recently the bleeding went from a dark brown to a bright red. What does that mean? And what do I do?
Hi, Thanks for the query. Brown colored blood usually indicates collected blood. Turning into red color may indicate fresh blood. So better to consult gynecologist as early as possible. Get examined and undergo ultrasound to find out the status of the fetus and placenta. Then with your doctor's advice, you can follow measures like : -Bed rest -Progesterone supplementation to stop the bleeding. -Analgesia to decrease pain. -Hematologic investigations the estimate the hemoglobin levels, to rule out Rh negative pregnancy etc. For more details : http://srsree.blogspot.in/2013/03/early-pregnancy-loss-abortion-2.html With this workup, the bleeding can be possibility controlled. Take care.
