hi..its mandatory to get the tests for cardiac status..since she is already a cardiac patient..most important are.ECG,ECHO,TMT, blood pressure..and is she on any medication like tablet aspirin/antiplatelet.., blood sugar and X-ray chest r additional..u must show her and take the pre anesthetic checkup..and status from cardiac physician that she can go for eye surgery under no/topical/local anesthesia..and can she sustain the stress..of an eye surgery..
everything looks fine untill something occurs..i mean problem on ot table..if we have all the records its easy to manage on table..and accordingly yr doc can plan ..before eye surgery that..she needs standby anesthetist/cardiac physician/oxygen/any other medication etc etc..
in theses days we r very much advanced in catarct surgery and she can safely be operated under no/topical anesthesia..but still u have to be careful..and after all she is yr mother..if u will not take care of him,,then who else..so please ..take care of her..god bless u

It is better tobe thorough. All procedures are interference with body .Any complication arising on the operating table will be difficult to manage. If there is a problem then the operating surgeon should be prepared tackle it .If a defect is found it should be properly investigated beforehand.
