87 Year Old, Trembling And Weakness In Left Leg. MRI Suggest Pinch Nerve, Given Muscle Relaxers. Advice?

My 87 year old mother, for the past 5 months has been having a problem with her left leg only, it trembling, weakness and can shake her pretty bad, that she has to hold on to something stable. She has had a MRI of her brain, no problems for a 87 year old, her MRI of her back shows a pinch nerve on her bad, above her waist and below her bra line. She has been given muscle relaxers because the MRI also showed allot of tension, she is tried of test and doctors, what do you advise?

Use of steroids(short course of 2-3 weeks) to reduce the inflammation on the compressed nerve,Gabapentin and analgesics may help.A neurosurgeon may be consulted if possible.
