Hi and thanks for the query,
Its would be difficult to actually ascertain the cause of the bump based on the description you just gave. But however, it would be worthwhile to make a few clarifications. There are two types of Herpes, labial and
genital herpes. The Labial herpes generally is not transmitted through sexual intercourse, although in some rare case, can also be gotten through sex. Herpes is usually an acute viral condition, with
itchy blisters that spread rapidly and bursting with scratching in to infect new areas very rapidly. At times accompanied by
fever,
swollen lymph nodes. In the late stages of this infection, ulcerations might be seen in the mouth which a generally very painful.
What you describe is really not fitting into this clinical scenario and it should be actually very unlikely that it should labial herpes. There is a possibility ti have lumps as such due to local bacterial infections. Diagnosing herpes is relatively simple.
Consult your family physician for an easy diagnosis and early institution of appropriate drugs. I suggest you need not worry that much.
Thanks for the query as I wish you the best of health.
