ACL Reconstruction Surgery Done. Stitches Removed, Incision Line Protruding, Tender And Pink In Color. Is It Normal?
I am 3 weeks post-op from acl reconstruction surgery using the patellar tendon graft in my same knee. My stitches were removed at 2 weeks, however the top of the incision line (on my knee cap) is protruding. It's only about a centimeter in diameter and looks as if it is just a lump of skin that was pulled too close together during the stitching. It is also quite tender, more so than the rest of the incision, and it is pinkish in color. Is this normal? Will it go away once the incision completely heals? Or will I always have this weird lump?

I can understand your concern, this is some what said to be normal or more precisely can be considered as normal, because this could be a starting of formation of keloid tissue which is pretty common in surgical incision, I would advise you to wait and watch if you see the area is increases then have word with doctor, have nice day
