AVN Of Hips. Core Depression, Total Hip Replacement. Type Of Anaesthesia, Stay In Hospital?
I am 37 yrs old and I was just recently diagnoses with Bilateral AVN of the HIps...I am going to see an Ortho Specialist and I was wondering which type of anesthesia is used for Core Decompression and for Total Hip Replacement...also how long does a surgeon suggest you stay in the hospital after these two types of surgery....Thank You Mrs. Evans for Texas
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM. Generally all patients will be worried about the surgical procedure and have lot of doubts in their minds regarding the procedure. I really wonder why you are so much concerned about the type of anesthesia. Any previous bitter experiences?
The type of anesthesia for both core decompression and THR will be combined spinal anesthesia and epidural analgesia ( which will take off your pain in the immediate post op period and make you move around comfortably ). The stay in the hospital for both the procedures would be around 5-7 days depending upon your recovery. Hope this helps. Good day
