Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m in constant abdominal pain . I have dhiarrhea at all times and have now noticed I have a lump inside right above my belly button. I recently spent two months in the hospital and they couldn t tell me what was wrong. This was before the lump appeared. I get severe pain in my abdomen when I eat and I m not gaining any weight from eating. I m actually losing weight and have dropped to quite an unhealthy weight. I can t figure out what it could be and am wondering if I should try a third hospital?
hello.i think your lump should be taken seriously and definitely need investigation.
you have not mentioned your age.
diagnosis for the lump in the abdomen has varied causes and it also depends on the age and associated symptoms etc.
one of the common possibility which corelates with your symptoms before and after onset of lump, is tuberculosis which is completely curable, but that needs thorough evaluation to come to the diagnosis.
there are many other causes depending upon the site.
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
You should go for urgent ultrasound imaging with CT/ MRI scan abdomen.
You may have pathology in pancreas and h/o weight loss, abdominal pain after eating, mass above umbilicus suggest the diagnosis.
If all investigations are normal then you should go for complete antibiotic course for gastroenteritis.
Thanks,
Dr. Mayank Bhargava
