Aborted. Skin Like Thing Coming Out Of Vagina With Blood. What Is It?
Hi I had a medical abortion on 6th apr 2013.... normal heavy bleeding happend & right now I am fine... today I noticed a skin like thing coming out of my vegina along with blood I pulled it out and it came smoothly with no pain . I was guessing what was that? though I dont have any pain & normal bleeding is there. Please advice

Hello,
Thanks for coming to HCM. The tissue that you noticed can be remains of pregnancy or lining of uterus which is curetted/rubbed to remove the pregnancy. Generally the entire contents of pregnancy are well sucked out during medical abortion done in hospital (you have not mentioned if you had it in hospital or home). In either case, unless you notice increased bleeding or sudden gush of blood, it can be taken as normal. Keep observing your bleeding/discharge pattern for now. If you notice any increase or foul smell/pain/fever, contact your gynecologist. Also, you can discuss with your gynecologist about contraceptive methods to avoid unwanted pregnancy.
