About Two Months Ago I Banged The Living Daylights Out

About two months ago I banged the living daylights out of my elbow. I ended up with a little bursitis. Went to the doctor, had it drained, they gave me some sort of injection and sent me on my way.

About three weeks later, I was playing in my kickball league and I fell down and hit the same elbow. It swelled up pretty bad, it hurt for about an hour, and then the pain subsided. It was bruised for a couple of days. After those couple of days I still had some swelling and very minor pain so I went to the doctor. She said I had bursitis again, gave me a compression wrap, and sent me on my way with a round of steroids.

Today, two months later, I have the same minor (but sharp) pain at random intervals throughout the day, mostly, I believe, caused by this hardened little ball of something under the skin that rubs against the tip of my elbow. The reason the tip of my elbow is aggravating this ball of whatever is that my elbow has hardware/equipment in it. See this photo: http://oi61.tinypic.com/2yw9tg9.jpg

I am no doctor, but my assumption at this point is that when I hit my elbow the second time, the tip of my hardware dug into the inside of my elbow's skin and caused it to bleed. Now, I have a barely noticeable dark area on the outside of my skin, in the spot where it hurts (and likely where I impacted when I fell).

I plan on seeing my doctor next week when I have a chance to take some time off from work. Just curious if anyone here can give me some helpful insight in the meantime to calm my nerves that this isn't something serious that needs immediate attention.

Thanks!
