Accidental Cut With Knife. Is Clindamycin Sufficient?
hi, I hate to ask this as a nurse but my neice called me and ask this...she was in ER for an accidental cut with kitchen knife (trip over pet) it did require several sutures. she was given Bactrim /oral Rx but couldn t they have a fill due to cost. filled script for clindamycin (full regimen) is that going to cover the organisms needed to be covered .?
Hi, If stitches are not taken then simply application of antibiotic cream is not going to help. Go with regular dressing with bandage till healing takes place. Continue with oral antibiotic medicines. Ok and take care.
