Accidentally Swallowed A Piece Of Sandwich, Had Shortness Of Breath. Suggestion?
About an hour ago I accidentally swallowed a piece of sandwich that was too big. It was hard to swallow that piece. I had shortness of breath afterwards and it felt like the piece was still stuck in there. My family is telling me that the feeling is because the large piece of food stretched my esophagus which is causing the discomfort I am feeling. Is this true? Or could the piece still possibly be stuck?
Hi, Thank you for your query. I think your family are probably correct. The large piece of food will have probably cause a bit of trauma to your esophagus and some local trauma. This is nothing to worry about but it may be sore for a few days. Avoid spicy foods as these may irritate the area caused more discomfort. I hope this information has helped you.
