Accidently Got Bitten By Street Dogs Producing Some Blood. Will It Be Harmful If Not Vaccinated?

Hello, ( RABIES Q) I m currently in India visiting. We have been looking over 3 street puppies for the past Month. They live in our yard. They go with their Mother every night to nurse and then return to us. My 6yr old was playing with one today and got bit accidently, more like a scratch that drew small amount of blood . Given they are not vaccinated and are still nursing (which rabies can be transmitted to pup), I m concerned for my daughter. I m not sure what to do, if anything. Should I wait the 10 days like advised or will that be harmful? Thank you so much, Angela

Hi friend
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Rabies is preventable but not curable.
It is better to treat the child straight away - vaccination and/or hyper immune globulin.
It is wiser to be safe than sorry

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
