Hi,I am Dr. Carol Rogala (Emergency Medicine). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i get really bad left chest pain the day after drinking alcohol...i usually drink about 6 drinks when i go out from like 8-2am. ..is the pain most likely my heart or acid reflux, two doctors says it s acid reflux but im worried it s my heart and yes i need to cut back.
Hellopablo;
welcome to HealthcareMagic
The chest pain you have is in all probability due to alcohol and not due to heart and to confirm you can get a ECG done at a hospital during the time of pain.If the ECG is normal then even you will be sure that the pain is due to acid reflux.Basically alcohol has the capacity to burn the internal lining of your esophagus and stomach so it causes damage to the internal part there by causing pain in chest.What you can do is to get investigated to rule out heart problem and then get treated for acid reflux and a possible gastritis.And the most important thing is to STOP alcohol or you will not be relieved of the pain.
Take care.
Thanks
