Acute Pain And Swelling Due To Wisdom Teeth Removal
hello.im 29yrs old &should of had my wisdom teeth all removed just after i graduated high school.I didnt... now years later one of them has cracked and is roting away.i sometime experience pain there but normally theres no swelling or discomfort.this past week i had such terrible pain i was in tears and losing sleep.swelling still is not appearent but the pain still persists at a much lesser degree.this wisdom tooth is located on the top of my jaw &i was told i didnt have room in my mouth for these teeth and thats why they needed to be removed.i wonder if the pain is simply because the dropping of the wisdom tooth is repositioning the rest of my teeth or if the cracked tooth is abcessed.the pain feels like it is generated more from below my cheek bone and throughout my jaw line then the tooth itself and again theres no sign of swelling.any advice would be helpful.i have no insurance nor the means to see a dentist .thanks for any help
Hello
Welcome to HCM
I would like to tell you that most of people have their wisdom teeth impacted because it doesn't get enough space for eruption.Same seems to be your case, now what all you need to do is get an IOPAR done of same tooth & get it surgically removed.
Correct line of treatment would be :-
Tab Amclaid-twice a day along with Tab Zerodol-SP thrice a day along with Metrogyl-400 twice aday,
if acidity persist then take rabeprazole-20mg once daily.
After getting extraction done you will get pain, swelling, difficulty in opening mouth.
Start doing warm saline rinses 24hrs after extraction.
All will be fine.Take proper rest.
Hello and thank you for your question.
The tooth is infected, it has gross caries and irreversible pulpitis leading to pulpal necrosis. You don't see the swelling because all of the swelling is within the tooth where the pulp has been infected and is dying. This dying process is very painful. Once the pulp dies, the infection spreads out from the tooth and into the surrounding bone, this then leads to swelling that is seen in the mouth and outside of the mouth. You need to have this tooth extracted to remove the infection and reduce the risk of further more dangerous infections.
HELLO,
the symptoms are usualy associate with impacted wisdom tooth eruption.this inflammation is known as pericoronitis.
difficulty in chewing/swallowing food, ear and throat infection, mildly ill with fever, lymphadenopathy are the associated symptoms.
visit your dentist to know the position of tooth and get an x-ray.
if normal eruption is possible, operculectomy has to be done.if there is no adequate space, get it surgically removed.
take care
Hi,
You have to get your wisdom teeth removed surgically. This is the permanent solution for it. Mean while you can take warm saline gargle 3-4 times daily and pain killers which relieves pain temporarily.
Hi, it seems that you have impacted wisdom teeth. The teeth are not fully erupted and most part is embedded in the bone. Such teeth get decayed very fast because there is food lodgement in the slightly erupted tooth. Now that they are decayed and causing you pain, it is a must that you should get them removed to prevent this problem from occuring repeatedly. Such teeth have to be removed surgically. Please take pain killers and warm saline gargles for temporary relief from pain. Take care!
Hi,
Thanks for query,
if there is eruption of wisdom teeth a part of buccal mucosa comes over it and forms a pocket and food etc trapped up there causing infection and giving rise to pain.
it is possible that there may be forming root abscess due to infection.
Better to remove wisdom teeth.
Do gargling so lodging of food particles wiped out.
Go for antibiotic and analgesic.
ok and bye.
hello,
welcome to healthcare magic,
the infected 3rd molars or the wisdom teeth are meant to be removed when it is infected and also when it is placed in abnormal position so that it becomes useless for chewing. the best way to treat it will be also removal for a permanent solution!. take care.
