Eruption of wisdom teeth causes problem in majority of people due to lack of space in the jaw.
They may get impacted or infected. In such case they have to be removed surgically.
However, it is not necessary that all people will face problem.
People who do not develop these problems can continue without removal.
So, removal is done only when the wisdom teeth eruption is associated with symptoms of pain, infection and impaction.
Else they can be left as such.

its not necessary that you have to get your wisdom tooth removed.

if there is sufficient space in your mouth for normal eruption,it will erupt as usual and no need of removing it.

if there is inadequate space/irregularly erupted,get it removed.

for final diagnosis ,get an x-ray of the teeth.

visit your dentist regarding this.

It is not necessary for a wisdom teeth to be removed unless you have a problem with it. Usually if the teeth erupts in its position properly without impinging on the adjacent teeth then extraction is contra indicated.If you have developed pericornitis or teeth is impacted leading to decay or abscess formation or position of the teeth is as such that it is leading to resorption of the adjacent or roots then it has to be removed. Wisdom tooth is the last tooth to erupt in the oral cavity and often it disturbs the adjacent teeth and tissue,the area is more prone to infection. x ray examination of the area will show the exact position of the tooth in relation to the jaw bone and the adjacent teeth. If the tooth is vertically straight and there is enough space in the oral cavity then it will erupt easily to its permanent position.
Sometimes wisdom teeth are tilted mesially,distally or horizontally creating pressure on adjacent teeth that leads to pain,food lodgement in this area leads to infection. so visit a dentist and get a x ray done that will help to decide the treatment plan.

wisdom tooth is always an enigma in dentistry.
in some peoples it erupts normally & does not cause any problems in that case there is no need of extraction.
but if this tooth start causing pain or there is no space for eruption than this may cause problems. In that case removal of tooth become necessary. Because in that case this may damage adjacent tooth.

Ideally wisdom teeth need to be removed if they are malpositioned and may give trouble in the future. If the wisdom teeth are completely errupted and are in place without harming the adjacent teeth then they can be left in the oral cavity. The area just needs to be kept clean.
