I m addicted to pan masala it serves as an escape for me from the pains of the world. I have been using it for the past 6 years. Last year, I tried to quit but it lasted only for a week. When I saw my Dad opening the packet I asked him and again I got addicted. My father does not asks me to stop in fact, we are like peers when it comes to pan. He buys it for me and I buy for him whenever we go out.
Pan masala is of two types: Plain pan masala (blue packet Pan Parag) and pan masala with nicotine which comes as white packet Pan Parag (zarda or gutkha).
Both are addictive. The white packet is more addictive than the other because of nicotine content. The plain pan masala contains arecanut which is also addictive.
You may try nicotine chewing gums if your pan masala contain nicotine, otherwise for plain pan masala you may have to quit by yourself and seek the help of a psychiatrist who may give you medications for any specific symptoms if you have.
