Advise On Urinalysis With Light Yellow Color And Slightly Turbid

Hi Doc,

Can u help me interpret my urinalysis result?

Color: light yellow

Transparency: slightly turbid

Reaction: 5.0

Blood: negative

Protein: negative

Sugar: negative Red cells: 0-2

White cells: 8-1 Epithelial cells: moderate

Bacteria: many

Mucus: few

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

You are suffering from urinary tract infection(UTI).
This is indicated by slightly turbid appearance of urine and presence of WBC,epithelial cells,bacteria,mucus threads etc in urine.
You need few more investigations like routine hemogram,Random blood sugar,Renal function test,Urine culture and sensitivity and Ultrasound of abdomen. Further investigations can be done if needed.
Ultrasound of abdomen can detect other associated pathology.
At present you need proper antibiotics after culture and sensitivity report.
