Advise On Ideal Treatment For Three Non-functional Hepatic Veins

Name: Tejonetri T. Age: 56 years, Height:5.6, Weight:44 kgs.

Past History: (1) I am a COPD patient for the past 3 decades. (2) I am a patient of Budd Chari Syndrome and a bypass was done in 1985 with a stunt. (3) I am a Hepatitis-B patient for some years and now Hepatitis-C patient. (4) I have G6PD deficiency.

Present problem: The three hepatic veins in the lever have become non-functional. Can you please advise me whether I should go with (a) Angioplasty or (b) bypass or (c) lever transplantation. Advise me clearly about my present clinical/medical situation.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Respected Tejonetri T. hi sorry to hear about your issue. Main thing lacking in your query is your present symptoms from which you are suffering, only thing you have given is past history and non-functional 3 hepatic veins. Utmost important are what symptoms presently you have? anyway in absence of that I am trying to figure out in a nutshell. hope this finds you to some help.If it`s really cumbersome and giving rise to severe pain/ discomfort /other clinical symptoms then and then only you have to intervene it in form of a/b/c. for option choice every option`s +/- you have to discuss out with the liver surgeon in details discussion session. *Most important if no much symptoms and 3 veins blocked, no intervention required as liver has many segmental lobes and enormous blood supply for all the lobes functioning. thanks dear regards wishing you fast speedy recovery from the same. Bye take care
