Advise On The Torch Test

Hello,

We had done the TORCH Test foand the CMV-IgM Antibodies to Cyto Megalo Virus by CMIA has come as Reactive (1.07).

Also Rubella IgG Antiboeis, serum by CMIA shows positive (147.7). What does this mean?

Doctor has advised Cap. Sujat, Cap, Torchnil & Antoxyl Forte for this.

Thanks

Hi,
CMV-IgM reactive means recent infection - It could be reinfection, reactivation or new infection
Rubella IgG positive with out IgM means previous infection..
You can continue treatment until CMV IgM becomes non reactive and CMV IgG become positive.
IgG antibodies are going to be present for life and only indicates previous infection. Reducing titre of IgG indicates better prognosis and improvement towards pregnancy plan.
As there are no specific treatment, you can continue the medication and follow up with a serological study later on.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
