After How Long Of Malarone Consumption , It Is Safe To Conceive?
Dear doctor have a question regarding Malarone. My partner and I will be travelling to Africa which requires us to take malarone and we would like to try and conceive but are aware that malarone is not safe for pregnancy. And therefore I was wondering how long my partner and I have to wait after we have taken the last dose for it to be safe. Thank you for your help

I have read & understood your concern.
Malarone is contraindicated in pregnancy- for it is known to have fetal toxicity as wee as leads to abortions/ miscarriages.
Half life of the drug is 2-3 days.Considering this it should take 6-7 days for full clearance, Also when the drug is taken over a longer span of days.. it's advisable to avoid pregnancy for 1-2 months to completely avoid clearance of the cumulative drug effect.( excessive precaution is always better).
