Husband Taking Malarone. Does He Have To Wait For 3 Months Before Trying For Baby?
Hi, my husband and I went to Madagascar for work last year and took malarone for 5 weeks, we were advised to wait 3 months before trying to conceive, which we did. He has now just returned from SOuth AMerica and has been taking malarone for 3 weeks. Is it just women who have to wait 3 months, or does this go for men also?
Malarone is one of the safer malaria prevention medications. Women are advised not to conceive for 3 months as you already know. No effect of Malarone has been found on sperms. So men have a choice to make.
I would suggest that you wait for at least 3 months unless there is an urgent decision by both of you to plan a pregnancy.
Hope this helps.
