After My Bilateral Mastectomy And 17 Lymph Nodes Removed, Went

After my bilateral mastectomy and 17 lymph nodes removed, went through chemo and the maintenance drug infusion hercepting I developed bad side effects. I have been slowly getting very fatigued and after doing chores I get breathless. I ve always been an active woman, even now at 77. I suffer from anxiety, but why am I now feeling like I can t do household chores without getting fatigued and simply worn out?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The surgical trauma, chemotherapy alters all the immunity, mental stress and anxiety all add up to cause the fatigue. Consult your Physician for counselling, additional supplements that you need to take regularly. Join the groups meant for cancer survival groups.

Consult oncologist and his team for further evaluation, investigations and management. Stress and anxiety are the worst to tackle with but can be surely overcome.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
