Always Thirsty, Frequent Urination, Weak And Heavy Limbs, Dizziness. Family History Of Diabetes. Advise?

Hi, I am a fifteen year old teenage girl and over the past week, I have noticed somethings. Firstly, I find that I am always thirsty and never satisfied and I also need to urinate very often. I also have very weak and heavy arms and legs and its hard to hold things and even walk. I also felt dizzy at one point, my father is an orthopedic surgeon-he checked my blood pressure and it was fine he also examined some other things like my eyes but didnt find anything noticiable. He says he will test my blood using the diabetes pack in the morning coz I wouldnt have eaten anything yet. Also, the last time I tried to get a proper blood test, whilst the nurse was pushing the inside of my elbow (arm??) I started to feel very very dizzy and once she put the needle in I completly passed out and I couldnt really see anything for a while afterwards. Im very scared right now and cant get to a doctor coz its night time, what should I do?? :( also, diabeted runs in my family.

Hi

With a family history Diabetes and complaints of thirstiness, frequent urination, weak and heavy arms and legs, dizzy etc., there is is strong doubt that you may be suffering the Same. Testing of morning fasting blood sugar and post prandial as well is esential for Diagnosis (as your father who is Orthopaedic Surgeon is doing). Regarding your fainting and blackout while taking blood with Syringe is due to your fearfulness only. You need not get a doc right now, follow your father's avdice.

Hello dear lets go through queries one by one
You are young have thrist and urination problems you have family history of diabetis plus once you felt dizzy too ,,,,,these are quite suggestive of diabetis but make you self examined by medical specialist ,,,take three consective morning blood sugar samples provided you have 12 fast.....take. Two hours post parandal levels too,,,,most diagnostic is oral glucose tolerance test ,,,,do it as well,,,,do your fundoscopy as well ,,,go checked your urine for traces of sugar and albumin ,,,this all will help you reach your diagnosis,,,stay blessed
