General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Ovarian cysts can cause menstrual irregularities, abdominal cramps, pelvic or back pain and irregular bowel movements. The diagnosis can be confirmed only after a pelvic ultrasound.

I suggest you to immediately visit your gynecologist for ultrasound and further management. Cyst rupture or torsion (twisting of an ovarian cyst) can be a medical emergency and requires immediate intervention.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
