Am I At Risk Of Stroke After Having A Fib And Bleeding Of Prostrate After Turp?
I have afib and bleeding of the prostate I had the turp done 2 weeks ago, the DR took me off all blood thinners but plavix, my afibs or returning and I am taking percocet for pain, could the percocet be causing the afibs and the continued bleeding of the prostate, am I at risk for a stroke
Unfortunately atrial fibrillation makes you a person at a greater risk for stroke. Blood thinners lower that risk, so the fact that you've interrupted them increases the risk. However given the active bleeding it seems reasonable to have interrupted your blood thinners, at least temporarily until the bleeding stops. As for Percocet its ingredients are not known to cause afib or bleeding of the prostate.
