Anus Itching, Barium Meal Tests Show Ulcerative Colitis. History Of Hookworm Infestation. How To Get Rid Of It?
I had hook work infestation for long time, which was treated with Albandazole regularly. At present I am suffering from itching in the anus , and barium meal tests have confirmed that I have ulcerative colitis . How can I get rid of itching in the anus, Is this due to Ameobiasis, or some other worms infestation. what kind of pathological test I should undergo to diagnose the problem. Kindly advise. Hello, Barium is not a very good test to diagnose ulcerative colitis. In view of your symptoms i suggest that you consult your doctor and get a rectal exam and a sigmoid scopy done. Itching in anus could be due ti worm incfection, Skin infection, Fissure and piles or inflammatory bowel disease. The above two tests will help to find the cause of the problem and rule in/out the conditions mentioned above. Hope this helps Do get back in case you have further queries Regards Dr Samir Patil
