Severe Kidney Infection, High Fever, Vomiting, Chron's Disease. Cure For Symptoms?

I went to the er on Wednesday, turns out I have a really severe kidney infection . They gave me an antibiotic and sent me home. I still have fevers ranging from 102 to 104.5, and I ve started throwing up the water I try to drink....should I go back. Also, I haven t eaten more than a bowl of sherbet in three days. I tried a bagel only to promptly throw it back up. Also, I have Crohn s. Not sure it that would affect your advice.

Hi,

Noted your history about having UTI under treatment with antibiotic but followed by vomiting.
Vomiting can cause dehydration which is detrimental in case of UTI for kidney as good hydration is a must for proper treatment of UTI.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Go back to ER to get a clinical evaluation, investigations of blood and urine.
Get the proper medications to stop vomiting and get intravenous fluids and antibiotic to get early results.
Once the vomiting is controlled you can start taking oral antibiotic.
Then take plenty of oral fluids.
Consult your primary Doctor to get additional investigations of ultrasonography and others as needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant,
