Any Ideas About Suntanned Shins Which Extends Slightly Around The Lower Legs In A Person With No Diabetes /venous Insufficiency?
What causes appearance of suntanned shins which extends slightly around the outer sides of lower legs as well. I worked as a server full time and carried heavy trays all day. My doctor tested me for diabetes which came out negative. She did not feel it was venous insufficiency, and suggested I might see a dermatologist. Any ideas? Thanks so much.
Hypermelanosis on shin area of the legs may be due to some cause or it may be without cause..idiopathic. As you said, DM is ruled out. Still, you go for blood test to have S.B12 level, thyroid function tests, lipid profile, HIV test, renal function tests...etc. If nothing is found abnormal, it may be idiopathic. If it is not embarassing, keep it untreated. Otherwise take vitamin C,E and glutathion for long time. You may apply kojic acid containing cream. You may be improved. I hope you got my answer.
Thanks.
