Hello
Mumps is a contagious disease and can spread to other family members. For this reason isolation is needed for 9 days from onset of swelling.
Immunisation in infancy gives protection from mumps, but not always.
Give her plenty of water and proper diet to maintain nutrition. Give pain reliever and antipyratic for pain and fever. Maintain oral hygiene by gargling with chlorhexidine mouth wash. This is a viral infection which has its own course of about one week.
