Any Suggestion For Swollen Yellowish Calf When On Treatment For Dog Bite?

i have friend that was bitten in his calf about 2 weeks ago by a dog. at first it swelled up and he was barely able to walk on it. he has been home treating it with antibiotic ointment and peroxide, and bandages. the holes are still open and parts of it are yellowish. what would you suggest?

Hello,
Welcome to HCM,

As your friend was bit by the dog and following which there is a infection of the wound leading to yellowish discharge following which your doctor has prescribed the antibiotic cream along with hydrogen peroxide.

Rabies is 100 % fatal but it is 100% preventable by proper and adequate treatment. I would suggest your friend to follow
1.Take antirabies vaccine as per the regimen
2.Oral Antibiotics like Tab Bactoclav 625 mg, twice daily for five days.
3.Wound dressing along with the topical T Bact cream.
4. Wound hygiene should be maintained.
