Are BP Of 188/55 And Pulse Of 63 Causes For Concern?
My high number is reading at 166/ 50. Pulse at 63. It seams to me that the upper number and the lower number are very far apart This morning when I checked it it was 188 over 55. I was exhausted after walking up 3 flights of stairs my pulse is staying at 63
Your blood pressure (bp) reading is really high. You should start medication for hypertension if not taking until now.
If you are taking any medication, you should change therapy (need to increase the dose or start another medication).
Although your bp increased when you walked up 3 flights of stairs, and your pulse remained 63, this has 2 explanations: 1. most probably you are taking any betablocker medication 2. any conductory heart problem you might be suffering or any metabolic issue (electrolyte imbalance or thyroid issues).
I advise to : - monitor your bp, record the results for future reference - run a complete cardiac check up (echocardiocram, holter monitoring, ECG and any other your cardiologist would see appropriate for proper diagnosis) - measure your blood electrolytes
Hope this helps.
