Are Norethisterone Tablets Advisable To Cease Menstrual Cycle?
Hi I took an ella one morning after pill on monday last week as I was unprotected and had an accident. Ive felt slightly nauseous since and yesterday came on all of a sudden. Its hard to tell when im due as im still irregular from having had implanon taken out recently. So not sure if the ella one intervened or it was a natural cycle! Well I am supposedly staying in a hotel with my boyfriend on friday and I dont know weather to leave nature to it and hope its over by then! On the other hand what are your views on taking norethisterone for 3x a day up until friday? Will this stop my period? Help, thanks annie
Hi Annie, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. What periods you had was due to taking morning after pill, as taking it would prevent pregnancy by causing withdrawal bleeding, within 3 weeks from the day of its intake. Norethisterone would help to postpone periods. However, it would not cause cessation of periods. Kindly consult Gynecologist in this regard for appropriate management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
