Are WBC Being 3.6 With Absolute Neutrophil Count 1.55 Normal?
I have a white blood cell count of 3.6 and an absolute neutrophil count of 1.55. I am a 19 year old caucasian male and I just had a blood test done about a week ago. My 2013 white blood cell count was 5.9. Should this be anything to worry about? I know it is on the low end of the norm. My doctor called and said results were all normal and did not even mention my white blood cell count or absolute neutrophil count. I am just concerned at the low value. I do not feel sick or different in any way.
Hello, thanks for posting on HCM. WBCs are cell which fight off infection or any foreign bodies detected in blood. Normally we check levels of WBC to see whether there is any infection or not. If it is high (>11000) we suspect infection depending on other clinical findings are treat the source of infection with antibiotics. If you are totally disease free or in healthy condition, WBC count should be on lower range of normal levels. So nothing to worry about. Take care I hope I have given satisfactory answer to your query, if you still have any more query kindly write back to me and I will be happy to help. Thank you
