What Causes An Elevated Absolute Neutrophil Count?

My husband has NEUTRO ABS 1.50 (normal range 1.7-7.0) which gives him a total WBC count of 2.52 (3.5-11.00 normal range). He finished radiation end of December 2016 and chemotherapy end of March 2017. He previous NEUTRO ABS in May was a bit higher. Any concerns?

Hi,

Usually, the neutrophil count is raised in infections but neutrophils constitute 60% of the total count.

But as the neutrophil count in the test report, you have given seems a little low which could be because of the low total count so I think it could be a side effect of the chemotherapy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
