Are An Anterior Talofibular Ligament Tear, High Grade Calcaneofibular Ligament Tear, And Grade-II Deltoid Ligament Injury With Fibrillation Serious Concerns?
I have a full thickness tear of the anterior talofibular ligament, a high grade calcaneofibular ligament tear, and a grade II deltoid ligament injury with fibrillation and soft tissue along the lateral gutter. I recently had another MRI to see how the ligaments are now and it’s showing amorphous diffuse thickening of the ATFL. Mild to moderate thickening of the calcaneofibular ligament with slightly proximal fibers. Presistent to slightly improved mild to moderate degree sprain of the deep fibers of the deltoid ligament compelled without widening of the medial clear space. Can u please tell in your opinion how this might be repaired.
Clinical examination for stability of the aforementioned ligaments is as important or in-fact more important than the findings of the MRI. If the examining orthopedic finds your ligaments to be stable, need not worry.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
