Are Antibiotics Harmful During Pregnancy?

I am 12th weeks pregnant now; i am suffring from sore throat, cold and fever from past 4 days. Doctor has given me antibiotic tablets. Is this is harmfull to my baby? Some times i am getting pain in my lower abdominal also. Is this an sign of miscarriage?
