My husband's urinalysis abnormal results are as follows: white blood cells occ (abn)/phf; epithelial cells 0-5 (abn) phf; bacteria trace (abn) phf- are any of the results concerning? he is 42 years old and has a very complcated medical history with a kidney transplant, HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy), a history of a gout like condition, though is not gout (possibly palindromic rheumatism (not sure if I spelled that correctly), type 2 diabetes, and a pacemaker
Your husband's urine analysis is absolutely normal. Up to 5 pus cells are normal /HPF. However he need clinical correlation. Epithelial cells are basically normal cells that represent contamination of the urine specimen with skin cells. It is very common and is not concerning.
