Are Chest Tightness, Discomfort Across The Back And Muscle Spasms Causes For Concern?

I take medication for acid reflux (generic Nexium) but have been experiencing some chest tightness, discomfort for the past couple of days. Also have had same type of discomfort across my back with some tingling and muscle spasms (this has been for several weeks). Not sure if I should be alarmed.

Hi,

First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it seems most likely to be muscular but it's better to get a baseline EKG. Meanwhile, OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be used. Muscle relaxants like orphenidine or tizanidine may also be helpful. Supplements for calcium D3 B12 and folic acid may be helpful.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
