Are Constant Pain And Swelling In The Limbs Signs Of Arthritis?

I m a 41 yr old woman and have noticed over the past couple of weeks or so that my hands are swollen, slightly painful and hard to make a fist or use them for that matter upon awakening. However, most recently I ve noticed that s it s not just when sleeping, but rather when lying down that causes this onset. Could it be arthritis or perhaps some more serious vascular issue?

Hello,

It may be due to arthritis.

For that you may require X Ray of affected joints, RA factor after ESR, c reacting protein after orthopedician consultation.

Till then you can take tablet acetaminophen for pain.

Do regular physical therapy

Take calcium rich diet

Hope I have answered your query and let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr Shyam Kale
