Are Cough And Cold Exaggerate The Symptoms Of Inguinal Hernia?
Went to the doctor and found out I need surgery for inguinal hernia in both sides of groin. I m waiting on the surgery date as we speak.I had a cold the last four days and a lot of coughing. Today I noticed both my testicles are hard and swollen. Not much pain, they just feel heavy
Cough and straining increase the intraabdominal pressure (pressure inside the abdomen) and worsen the symptoms of a hernia. It is of very much importance in patients who have already undergone surgery. Bronchodilators have to be started.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
