Are Dizziness, Nausea And Sweating Normal After Getting Cut On Knee?
I tripped over, fell and cut my right knee when I was running this morning. I got back home, cleaned the wound and felt dizzy, nausea and sweaty 45 minutes after the incident. I had to lie down and rest. The same dizziness, nausea and sweating happened immediately, 6 months ago when I fell 5 steps on the stairs hurting my tailbone. Is this normal?
Swelling after a cut is expected after an injury to the knee. Dizziness and nausea might be reactions involving your autonomic nervous system. There is a certain part of the nervous system which is not under our control. It is called the autonomic nervous system. There are two parts in it, the parasympathetic nervous system and sympathetic nervous system. These two are in balance most of the time. When an emergency like injury takes place, these get activated by themselves to protect you. You either get frightened and run away or accept the situation and fight it out. This can also be taken as an involuntary stress reaction by the body. The dizziness and nausea are a reaction to stress which occurred as a cut in the knee.
