Are Fluttering Heart, Aching Shoulders And Fatigue While On Stents A Cause For Concern?
I have a heart condition after a small heart attack in 2012 for which i had 3 stents fitted and I am taking life long medication for this now . Over the last 2 months I have started to notice symptoms such as feeling very tired even after a full nights sleep no energy heart flutters and boughts of almost passing out for no reason also aches in my left shoulder and right shoulder and down my right side I am very concerned about this and would appreciate some advice
Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I want to assure, I will take care all of your medical concerns.
Stents sometimes causes mechanical breakdown of red blood cells leading to anemia and the symptoms you have are of the same reason. Another reason may be blockage of cardiac blood vessels once again at the same sites where you have stents already in place and in this case heart is not working optimally to deliver blood efficiently and symptoms of Ischemia. There may also be blockage of some new blood vessels.
I preferably refer you to a cardiologist for complete evaluation of the cause of your symptoms and cardiac functions status. Your cardiologist may go for echocardiography, thallium scan, angiography etc etc.
Hope I answered all of your questions. In future, if you need further, detailed and quick assistance on any health issue, feel free to ask me a question by writing my name as a reference in the start of your question. I will get back to you right away. Have a wonderful time ahead.
Regards! DR. MUHAMMAD HANIF USA
